We don't like to say goodbye to summer, but autumn in Ludington brings its own special beauty and unique offerings. And here's an even better reason to visit Ludington in the fall....

The Annual Barns & Byways Tour celebrates the proud agricultural heritage of Mason County, Michigan. Here is a list of the four Victory Township barns that were on the 2011 tour:

Kevin & Nancy Hansen, 3130 W. Victory Drive.
Ted & Kathleen Radtke, 2545 W. Fisher Road.
Peterson Family Farm, 2774 W. Victory Drive.
Ray & Audrey Keith, 940 W. Fountain Road.

The first Barns & Byways tour, organized by the Ludington & Scottville Chamber of Commerce, was held in October 2008. The barns tour successfully welcomed over 400 people to view the historic landmarks of our beautiful country roads. Eight Mason County barns were open to the public, still in use by families whose ancestors date back nearly a century. Most of these historic barns are located on Conrad Road, where visitors toured the inside and compared architecture.

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to get in the car, drive the back roads of Mason County, and take in the glorious colors of fall. Many trees will be sporting their shades of red, yellow, and orange for your enjoyment. With the crispness in the air, it's the perfect time to visit the past and honor local farms, which are the backbone of our country.
